-I have some really cute books I need to share.
-A picture book I need to finish for Charles' first year.
-Laundry and Dishes they are never ending!!!
-Constant errands, events, and paper work to complete.

Storytime for the Littles in your Life

Opposites: very simple but a very cute way to teach opposites.
Curious about Phonics: Great books that help jump start early reading.

The Birthday Surprise: was a very fun and special book this past week since it was Charles' birthday. This book also has a bunch of very sweet birthday wishes from friends and family from Charles' first birthday party.
A Treasury: This book has a collection of 8 stories about George's adventures.  We have read the first one so far. Thanks Mr. and Mrs. Cordes for this precious gift for Charles' first birthday.
Goes to the Zoo: We will be reading this book very soon. We just received this book this past weekend in the mail from Charles' Uncle James and Aunt Nell.  Thank you so much.

Are you Curious: Just like a little one, George is just curious about everything. I am quickly understanding this curious nature about toddlers.

This past week has been all about Curious George since it was Charles' birthday week! I hope you are curious enough to try out some of these great classics with the littles in your life.

Like Dandelion Dust is just remarkable. I highly recommend you trying it out. Now I am going to find the movie that goes with the book. The teacher in me doesn't want to tell you that a movie is out there because you should read the book first!!! Please let me know what you think when you finish.

I'm starting this book today.

1st Chore

This adorable guy turned one yesterday! Words can't express how much we love him. We had a crazy time yesterday with no Internet or power on the bottom floor until our energy provider fixed a breaker that made us not have power or air conditioner from about 8pm on August 9 until about 3 pm yesterday. Thank God we had cool weather during that time and could open windows to stay cool. Since we already had Charles' birthday party on June 30th we just enjoyed our time with our birthday boy yesterday. If you would like to see his party: http://www.patrickandbrookebox.blogspot.com/2012/07/ive-been-everywhere.html or go to Erika's post here. I seriously thought about asking Matt to be the Man in the Yellow Hat from Curious George. He would have been perfect for the role.

Today he experienced his first chore of being a toddler- helping unload the groceries. He did not seem to mind one bit and I think he enjoyed it. He actually did this without being asked:)!

Six Years Ago

My sister gave birth to my nephew Truman. Happy Birthday to a little boy that changed my life by making me an aunt. I love you very much. Always love, share, and never quit learning.
I believe that Truman and Charles look a lot alike. Here is a picture of Truman right before he turned one.

Storytime for the Littles in Your Life

Baa Baa Black Sheep is a favorite of mine because of all the cute knits in the book.

The Boss Baby is a perfect baby shower gift.

Have You Filled a Bucket Today? This is a great book for elementary school and for guidance counselors.I have seen some really cute ideas for the classroom that go with this book on Pinterest.

A Particular Cow: This cow goes on one awesome trip before returning home.

MINE!: The only word in this book is mine. This book is great for teaching little ones about sharing.

It's Raining, It's Pouring: I wish it would rain here we need it. It looks like the Olympic games will be getting a wet weekend.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat: I wonder if they sing this to themselves as they row in the Olympics?

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star: A precious bed time story.

I'm a Little Teapot: A fun story and song. I remember on senior rec day at my high school seniors loved making underclassmen sing this during lunch in front of everyone.

Mary had a Little Lamb: Boy does that lamb get into stuff .
