Bad Blogger

I keep thinking hey I need to blog, but then I look at the pile of laundry or dishes and think no I have too much to do. Then I am needed to be mommy to two precious babies and I think the blog is not as important as they are. I love them more than I can put into words, and they will only be little once. Although I do love to look back and see what all our family has done or been through, so I will continue to blog but I will choose to take breaks and not beat myself up for not keeping it updated. Bear with me as I get used to being a mommy to two. You will notice when I get better at juggling everything because I will post more often.

Updates on us:

Patrick- Is finishing up the school year and is extremely busy getting everything done.
Me- Adjusting to life as a mommy of two.
Charles- He amazes me with how creative he is. I love listening to him play with his toys. He is a little social butterfly and loves people. He enjoys church and is probably the youngest greeter ever. He has a special ability to make people feel special and I love watching as that special gift grows within him.
Meredith- Is growing so fast. I can't believe she will be 3 months on the 24th. It seem like yesterday that I should be posting about her at 2 months. She loves being held and talked too. She will coo and smile when talked to. She is beginning to learn how to hold on to things like her paci and rattle. She found her thumb, but we are encouraging the paci as much as we can. She does not like tummy time at all.

What In the World is Going On

On February 7th I went in for a routine weekly check up for this pregnancy. They drew blood. On Monday I find out that my platelet count is low and that they want me to go to see a specialist on Thursday since I have a scheduled c-section. Scary to say the least. I go to the specialist and he basically does a basic check up on me. Explains what will happen if my counts drop further, and tells me to have more blood drawn on the following Monday (8 days later after the first time). So yesterday I go into the lab and have my blood drawn, and yesterday a little after  5 pm I get a phone call stating my platelet count has dropped further. I am now supposed to take steroids 3 times a day until delivery. They make me a little jittery with a little nervous energy. Just what a pregnant woman needs the last 8 to 9 days before delivery. They strongly believe that my low platelet count is due to pregnancy but are not certain, so 12 weeks after delivery more blood work.

Life or Something Like It!

You know the routine...Get up, get dressed, go to work, eat, and go to bed. That has pretty much been what has been going on lately with the Box's. I can't complain about any of that especially the work part. I am really enjoying my job! I finally got the feeling back that I thought I lost a year or two ago about teaching. I don't dread going to work and/or feel sick mind, body, or soul when going to work or thinking about work! My students rock!! Well we have also been to some pretty amazing high school basketball games, a soup supper thrown by the junior class, and had some pretty awesome game nights with our friends Rob, Jill, Mike, and Kim.
On another note, Patrick has become a lumberjack each afternoon and on weekends lately. We already have enough wood to get us through next winter! Men with their toys-I guess I should mention that about two weekends ago he bought an attachment for his weedeater. All the wood came from the branches that fell because of the ice storm. The inmates were brought out to gather branches and put them on the side to be picked up by a company. Which helped out a great deal.
Wood from our yard, the Whitham's yard, and from down our street!

Continued..... We may need to do an intervention! What do you think? I need to borrow the sign from How I Met Your Mother!
