Storytime for the Littles in your Life

Help: I would like a more creative name for the title because my goal is to do a segment like this each week.

Books to check out from the library for your little ones:
1.) The Ugly Truckling by David Gordon- a great book about transportation.  This book reminds me of the Ugly Duckling. I give this book 4 stars.
2.) Amelia Bedelia's First Apple Pie by Herman Parish- I have a soft spot in my heart for Amelia Bedelia books because I grew up reading and loving them. So of course I give this book 5 stars.
3.) All Around Me I See by Laya Steinberg- A lovely book and perfect for earth day. Cris Arbo did an excellent job with the pictures. I give the book 3 1/2 stars.
4.) Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas- So cute and great for small children because it is so colorful. A fun read for Mom or Dad also because they will get a giggle or two out of the book. Of course it also helps to teach rhyming which aids in literacy for your little(s). I give this book 4 stars.
5.) The Doghouse by Jan Thomas- Talks about fear and that sometimes it is irrational. The words and pictures are ideal for babies through pre-k. I give this book 3 stars.
6.) Can You Make a Scary Face? by Jan Thomas- Adorable and will make you giggle. Another book about facing your fears. An interactive picture book for small children. I give this book 4 stars.
7.) Making Science Count Math Fables Too by Greg Tang- Vivid and colorful pictures. Best for Kindergarten and 1st grade. You can use it for smaller children- just use some of the story and use the illustrations for counting and finding things. I give this 2 1/2 to 3 stars for babies to age 5. For Kindergarten to 2nd grade I give the book 4 stars.

Remember to share in the fun and link up.

Avengers

I am looking forward to seeing this movie next weekend. If you go on Friday please don't spoil the details for us that can't go until Saturday. The added bonus: it will be a date night for Patrick and I. What movie or movies are you looking forward to seeing in the near future or this summer?

Crazy Busy Spring Update

I feel so bad that I haven't been great about blogging much this spring. March, April, and May are crazy busy for us as a family. I know all of these pictures are from after Easter. Enjoy the update through pictures of the past two weeks. The picture above: Charles sporting his new shirt from the Easter bunny.
He was so exhausted from playing with his toys. When we looked down this is what we saw. So adorable right?!
Bath time fun. Charles received bath toys and a toy hanger for the toys from his Grandma and Grandpa. Now bath time is so much fun.

As you can see play time is always in the same spot.

Storytime for the Littles in your Life

1. Baby Loves Spring by Karen Katz: This book is really cute and there is so much you can do with it. You can do a picture walk through the book, then read it and lift the flaps, you can ask how many birds, what are the colors of the butterflies, what do we need when it rains?, and so much more.
2. Happy Easter Little Critter by Mercer Mayer: A very sweet book about Easter. I know it is a little late for this year, but put it on your list for next year.
3. My Mother is So Smart! By Tomie DePaola: All mothers will like this book. The title says it all.
4. Lion's Lunch by Fiona Tierney: Talks about all the creatures big and small in the jungle and what they do.  I liked it for the story and the pictures are beautiful.
5. The House of 12 Bunnies by Caroline Stills & Sarcia Stills-Blott: Another book that you can search the pictures with. The story tells you what to find in the illustrations.
6. Little Dog Lost The True Story of a Brave Baltic by Monica Carnesi: A very sweet book about a lost dog and the people that saved him.
7. Playing Right Field by Willy Welch: All positions are important. Very nice baseball story. It is the perfect time of year for this baseball story.
8. Let George Do It! by George Foreman: I was not a fan. Too many Georges for characters.
9. The Three Little Rigs by David Gordan: One to check out if you have a child that likes building things or trucks. You will find it very similar to Three Little Pigs.

I hope this helps you find some great books for the littles in your life. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Easter

Check out the following song: Arise my Love by Newsong. It reveals the true meaning of Easter not the following pictures.

This outfit and remote are from Mama C and Pop. Charles loves playing with this remote, and pretty soon he will be sporting this outfit.
Charles' first Easter basket: his outfit for church, a onesie t-shirt "I not chubby, it's all muscle," a sippy cup, and a rubber duck.
The following pictures are of us all dressed up at church to celebrate God's son.
All the excitement made him fall asleep on our way home. The trip home is less than 5 minutes! I wish I could fall asleep that quickly.
