You have watched me grow...

You have watched me grow
From chubby baby cheeks to riding buckey the horse.
You have watched me grow
From baby dolls to softball cleats.
You have watched me grow
From make-up to learning how to drive and high school graduation.
You have watched me grow
from that scary first day of college to finally graduation day.
You have watched me grow
From meeting my one true love to walking me down the aisle to marry him.
You have watched me grow
From birth, to child, to teenager, to adult, and one day as a parent too.

Thanks Daddy for watching me grow, encouraging me to never give up, listening to me, and giving me advice. I love you.
Happy 60th Birthday!

Love,
Your Baby Girl

Innovation in History: Impact and Change

History Day displays are the following I tried really hard not to have any student pictures in here, but with all the different students walking around in this area made it extremely hard! These pictures are from our regional competition this week. For history day you could do a display with a process paper, a documentary with a process paper, a big huge paper, a performance with a process paper. You get the point. The topic they had to tie their projects to is: National History Day invites students to research topics related to the theme: Innovation in History: Impact and Change.
High School Displays:
The first two pictures are from 2 of our high school students! They were very creative and did and excellent job! They will be going to State!!! We also have another student from the high school that will be going to State for her documentary on Pablo Picasso.
The following 2 pictures are from other high schools that I liked.
I believe they are also going to State.
The next displays you will see are from our Middle School Students:
The first one you see is on Braille.
The next 2 pictures are also from our students. On the refrigerator. Very cool idea.

The Geneva Convention.
The Camera
The Beatles
I would like to say that we have one performance group from our middle school going to STATE! I am very proud of all of our groups and all of their hard work!
The following pictures are from other middle schools, but I enjoyed seeing them:

The picture above is of a really neat project on each side of the blast it has information.

The picture above is really cool. The display board is built like a huge Lego!
We decided to see the inside of the capitol building since it was just down the street.

The inside of the library at the capitol.
What they were discussing in subcommittees in the Senate.

Blessings

I am studying Psalms. A chapter a day is what I am shooting for. This morning I was blessed with Psalm 13. I really needed to be reminded who is in control, that He is listening, and He loves us. So I am going to leave you with Psalm 13:1-6. I hope you find it a blessing to your heart as much and I did this morning.
Psalm 13:1-6 New Living Translation
1. O Lord, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?
2. How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand?
3. Turn and answer me, O Lord my God! Restore the light to my eyes, or I will die.
4. Don't let my enemies gloat, saying, "We have defeated him!" Don't let them rejoice in my downfall.
5. But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
6. I will sing to the Lord because he has been so good to me.
I found this site that explains each part of Psalm 13 check it out: http://www.westpalmbeachchurchofchrist.com/articles/psalms/psalms_13.html

Starting to Clip

After noticing how much friends are saving with coupons and all the great websites out there. I have decided to start trying to cut our grocery and cleaning products cost(s). I am just a beginner here, and wish to get a better grasp on this because what we don't have to spend on everyday things we can save for fun things and the future! Let me know your money saving techniques and where you go to save money!
The stores we have locally are: Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Dollar General, and Hy-Vee & Fairway(are grocery stores). We drive into bigger cities at least once a month, and can get to other stores like Target, so don't leave out your ideas just because I didn't list them.
Websites that have already been recommended:
www.couponmom.com
www.couponsurfer.com
www.coolsavings.com
www.coupons.com
http://www.thefrugallife.com
Also, I have found a few coupons in Good Housekeeping and from flyers that are mailed here weekly. We are thinking about getting the Sunday paper too.
Today we saved $11.40 and I know we can do better! It is a start though.

Snail Mail Blooper

Before I give into my rant, let me tell you these few things 1.) I love sending cards and receiving cards through the mail, 2.) My Dad delivers mail, and 3.) I am very appreciative of postal workers, especially those that have a walking route, you know they are not only carrying heavy mail but also dealing with the weather (rain, snow, hot, cold the mail most go). I give my thanks to all the postal workers out there that bust their rear ends everyday.
With that being said here is my complaint: My parents have been keeping important documents that I now need. My Dad got the papers together and mailed them to me through registered mail (for those that don't know this is insured mail that Patrick or I must sign for) through the post office in Danielsville, GA on March 8th. They got to Atlanta, GA on March 9th and were setting in Atlanta when my Dad called and checked on them yesterday. That is 8 working days for the post office and no action!!! My Dad and I have lodged a complaint, and they have started an investigation. They are supposed to have my documents in Carroll tomorrow. I can't wait to find out what happened. Thanks for letting me rant!
My mail finally arrived March 22nd! Yahoo

Today's Accomplishments

Today Patrick and I were busy bees cleaning up around the house, putting things together or up on the walls. Check out some of our handy work: This file cabinet/shelf was a must. You should have seen our office before we got this together, we could have been on an HGTV show!
My sister and brother-in-law gave us these prints for Christmas. We decided they should go in our guest bedroom. They match perfectly.
Finally we hung up my diploma. It has been packed up for over two years. Now it is hanging proudly in our office.

In Like A Lion

I feel like roaring! I am excited about SPRING arriving soon, because I am so ready to see sunny skies, green grass, flowers blooming, and mainly just warmth and NO COATS! With the spring arriving comes bicycle adventures. We purchased a bicycle for me last September, and I am ready to expand my abilities with the arrival of nice weather. Hopefully the hills will be much easier for me to conquer now that I am beginning to get into shape.  Speaking of workouts I am increasing my running time on the treadmill. When I started I could only run for about 5 minutes at a speed of 4.5, and now I am walking at that speed and running at 5.5  for 15 minutes. My goal is to get up to 25 minutes of running and the other 5 minutes walking for a warm up and cool down. I keep myself on the treadmill for the full 30 minutes(the time limit that is set by the gym), and I took Erika's advice from her blog about imagining I am about to weigh in on tv(Biggest Loser) and the positive talks, and they really helped me push myself further on my running! I was very impressed with the results thanks Erika because I would have never thought of doing that because I don't watch reality tv.
On a positive note, Patrick and I are working out about 3-4 times a week, which is a big step for us!   I can't wait to see the changes these workouts are supposed to be making!
