Just Around the Corner

Charles' second birthday is just around the corner and I want to make him a simple cake. He really likes Mickey Mouse Clubhouse so I was thinking of doing a Toodles cake. The top two pictures show you what he looks like.

I'm debating trying to make this on my own or getting someone else to make it. I would rather have basic smooth icing with fondant design. So should I try to be a CAKE BOSS or leave it up to the professionals?
