Reading Link Up

So if you follow this blog you know how much I love to get into a good book. These are the books I have read so far in November:

 The Icing on the Cake is the second book in the series, so check out Picture Perfect first.

 Secrets over Sweet Tea is a wonderful southern book about 3 different families finding healing and renewing their hearts. There is also a devotional the author wrote to go along with it called: Reclaiming your Heart: A journey back to laughing, living, and loving. This book will have you laughing out loud and at other times hurting and crying along with the characters. Secrets over Sweet Tea is christian fiction.

Be Sweet- takes you through two middle-aged daughters coming to grips with their past and moving on toward a brighter future.

Books on Deck:

One of my goals for the year is to read a book a week. My current standing is 47 books read, only 5 to go.

I would also like to say happy Veterans Day to those that served and are serving. Thanks also to your families because you make huge sacrifices too!

I'm Back

We left town on June 8 and just got back home today! I have a great deal about our time away to share, but it will not be in this post. I have over 300 hundred pictures to go through from our vacation. I will be going through them and sharing this week. Instead I am going to share the books I read in June:

4.) Relentless Pursuit book 3 in Secrets of Roux River Bayou by Kathy Herman; 392 pages. Christian Fiction
5.) Stealing the Preacher by Karen Witemeyer; 352 pages. Christian Fiction.
6.) Unshaken 3 book in a series by Francine Rivers, 182 pages. This book is about Ruth. Christian Fiction.

On Deck:
I have to go to the library tomorrow. 2175 pages read this summer far!

Books to Read!

1. Janice Thompson is back with a new book. Her new book is called Picture Perfect and it is absolutely adorable. If you enjoyed the characters from her series Weddings by Bella you are in for a treat.
2. The Right Call by Kathy Herman is the third book in the Sophie Trace book. If you enjoy mystery check out this series. An added bonus there is a series that connects to this series that takes place in Louisiana not in Tennessee. That series is on my to read list.
3. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys will pull at your heart strings. This book takes you on the journey of a young girl and her family that was captured and taken to work camps by the Soviets in World War II.
4. Lineage of Grace book 1 Unveiled by Francine Rivers. This book captures the life of Tamar. A wonderful book that helps you study the tribe of Judah. It contains Bible studies at the end. I am excited to read the next 4 in this series.
5. Hatteras Girl by Alice J. Wisler is a wonderful book for those of that wish to be at the beach! A wonderful story about the Outer Banks.
6.  I am currently a little over half way finished with A Wedding Invitation by Alice J. Wisler. So far the main character has went to the wrong wedding, taught school overseas, works with her mom at a dress shop, and visits with her fun aunt in Winston Salem. My goal is to finish this book by April 30.

Books to Try

Here are some books I believe you will enjoy trying out. I know I enjoyed them.

Look Again: This book is about adoption. The main character is a newspaper reporter. She meets and falls in love with a baby boy at the hospital she is doing a story on. Go forward about 2 years and a flyer comes in the mail with a projected picture of a missing boy and a reward for any great detail to finding the little boy is worth 1 million dollars. The reporter just can't get the card out of her mind because her little boy looks just like the boy in the flyer. This book will capture you and you will not be able to put it down. Great twists and turns that keeps you hooked.

 The Weight of Silence: A book that will keep you reading just to figure out what happens to the two little girls that go missing. This story has it all- abduction, selective mutism, verbal and physical abuse, and so much more. This book takes place in Iowa.

Ruined: This book takes place in Louisiana. It is filled with mystery and suspense about what happened to a young girl over 100 years ago.  

If you try any of these books or have questions about them please let me know. It tried not to give too many details so that I wouldn't ruin the books for you. 

Books for You and the Littles

I'm back from a 18 day total vacation. We had so much fun visiting with family and friends in Georgia and South Carolina. Here are some great books to check out or purchase:

 I read this book while on vacation. It is about a lady and her two teenage daughters that move to Shem Creek from New Jersey. This book is a great beach book.

 I read this book on the way to Georgia. It is very good but I recommend that you read the back books first so that you know and understand some of the characters in this book. Series to read first in this order: Redemption Series, Firstborn Series, Sunrise Series, and then this series. I have 3 more to read in this series: Learning, Longing, and Loving. I found out when I was home that it looks like there will be another book about the Baxter family. You will not regret reading these books!!!

 I am reading this book right now and enjoying it greatly. More information to come when I finish it.

 10 Tiny Puppies: A wonderfully cute counting book. One I can't find online for some reason is Good Night, Little Bear A Sleepy-Time Tale. It is a great book to read before bed time. Thanks Matt, Brooke, Taylor, and Finley.

 ABC: You can never go wrong with reading a Seuss book. Get your tongue ready in advance before reading it to your littles. Thanks Elizabeth and Leah.

 Jack and the Beanstalk: A fun big book to read with your little ones. The classics never go out of style. Thanks Aunt Heather.

Rumble in the Jungle: Great for teaching about animals and rhyming. The pictures are beautiful. Thanks Matt and Erika.

A few things

This little guy turned 10 months old yesterday.  I know he is cutting at least one new tooth if not two on the top. Our usually very smiley and happy baby has not been so happy because of teeth that are coming in to aggravate him.

 This book is not for any little in your life. This summer I will be reading books just for me and of course picture books to Charles. I finally checked out a book for my own pleasure about two weeks ago. It took me about 3 days last week to read all 407 pages of it and I wanted more. Hopefully the author will write a sequel. I know Dorothea Frank doesn't read my blog but if by chance she stumbles upon it---I would like to know what happens to the old snoops, the beauty shop, does the main character finally get a true marriage, does the long lost father step up, and so on. Don't leave a girl hanging okay.
